The city of Leander is now accepting applications for: Inspector III – Fire Department: The Inspector III will serve under the direction of the Fire Marshal performing technical and administrative duties, as assigned, in the Division of Fire Prevention including fire prevention and fire investigation services and reviews plans and specifications for buildings and fire protection systems. This position must professionally communicate with people both within and outside the organization and be prepared to represent the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources, providing consultation and information regarding laws, rules, regulations and local policy relating to fire safety. Inspect buildings and other structures, for fire hazards and to ensure that federal, state, and local fire codes are met. Test and inspect fire protection and fire extinguishing equipment to ensure that it works. Investigates the origin and cause of fires by searching the surrounding scene and collecting evidence.
