To all my family at the SFFMA,
Thank you all for your support and prayers over the last 11 years. It was May 18, 1998 that Grant entered Scott and White in Temple. You have all been there for Grant and me from that time. The outpouring of love, prayers and kindness have been the thing that sustained me. For that words are just not enough.
My sweet baby boy fought long and hard through much adversity to reach the heights he reached. The Dr. said that the 75 year warranty on his lungs just ran out. He passed, as so many prayed for, quietly and peacefully. We had the opportunity to be with him and hold him and talk to him. For that we were blessed. Many are not able to have the time we had with Grant.
Your prayers, E-MAIL, phone calls, flowers and attendance at his visitation and memorial service gave me a strength that I will never be able to explain. What a wonderful family we have in the fire service. I have often questioned why…I think possibly it was to show me what a fantastically group of beautiful people I am surrounded by in the SFFMA and Fire Service. Words will never be there to tell all of you how much you mean to me. Thank you all for EVERYTHING you have done for my family and me.
