Update on H.B. 1913 & H.B. 387 - Calls Needed

Postby wcollier on Wed May 06, 2009 8:28 pm

H.B. 1913 relating to the clarification of the black hydrant statute and H.B. 387 providing a fuel tax exemption for volunteer fire departments are both in the House Calendars Committee. Below is a list of committee members. If your state representative is on this list, please call him/her ASAP and ask that these bills be set on the House Calendar for floor debate. Ask for the legislative director’s email address so that you can send them the attached one-pager that explains why the bills are important.

Please do not call these members if you do not live in their district. Little weight is given to calls from non-constituents. If you live in Representative McReynolds district, please tell his staff to thank him for carrying H.B. 1913 and ask for his help in setting H.B. 387.

If you live in Representative Keffer’s district, please thank him for carrying H.B. 2013, which provides a tuition and laboratory fees exemption for volunteer firefighters. This bill is set for floor debate on May 8th.

As always, be brief and to the point and most importantly, be courteous.
