At this time (February 1st) we're waiting on the data transfer project to conclude before making the 2016 Progress Report available. The report will be submitted through the 3.1 site and the Certification Board has not yet set a due date. As soon as it is available, Austin staff will post instructions to the 3.1 landing page and cross post to Facebook.

SFFMA has partnered with TEEX-ESTI to provide written examinations for the SFFMA Certification Program. TEEX Regional Coordinators determine testing locations and dates, with registration handled through the SFFMA certification office.

  1. Contact the Austin office to verify eligibility by emailing certification@sffma.org. Once verified, your name will be placed on the registration list for the specific exam on the current schedule.
  2. Any requests based on special needs must be stated at the time of registration to allow time for arrangements to be made. If e-mailing to register, attach a Request Form for consideration.
  3. On the day of the exam, be sure to bring a valid photo ID to the testing session. Those taking the Firefighter I exam will also need to bring a copy of the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) to cover the HazMat portion of the exam.
  4. Concerns about specific questions must be addressed to the exam proctor prior to leaving the testing session.
